“Learning how to have self-love and compassion for the broken parts
that lie within us all is the first step to healing.”
Beverly Reader MD
I’m Dr. Beverly Reader, Board-Certified Psychiatrist with over a decade of experience healing traumatic stories through a blend of professional psychotherapy training, spirituality, and psychedelics. I specialize in the treatment of trauma and PTSD, domestic violence, anxiety and depression. Psychiatry is my life’s passion and it is an honor to work with you and guide you, so that together we can achieve your best self.
My treatment approach focuses on caring for the whole patient – your mental well-being, spirituality, emotional world, and physical health. I combine compassion with professional expertise and understanding to help you heal, release, and manage what happened in the past. My goal is to help facilitate the healing power that lies within you through the merging of medicine with spirituality.
During my residency at Georgetown University Hospital, and in the years following in practice, I have provided medical and counseling services in various settings and circumstances. Including: an inner city HIV clinic, the Washington D.C. jail system, community clinics for the underserved, and the foster care system. In addition, I have done extensive work with pregnant and postpartum women, as well as those with perinatal loss.
My work focuses now on trauma that often presents as Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or (CPTSD). It is my intention to provide access to healing services to those who are ready to release painful emotions at the deepest levels one individual at a time so that we might collectively begin to heal our world.
Whether it be in my office, your home, or another setting; our sessions will always take place in a safe, confidential, and supportive environment. Know that we are in this together. I am here to help facilitate your letting go of the things that are holding you back so you can remember again who you really are. It is my belief that it is possible to heal even from the most devastating things that happen in life, that we all have that capacity within us if we are open to it.
My treatment approach focuses on caring for the whole patient – your mental well-being, spirituality, emotional world, and physical health.
